New additions to the CLAY Collection
12th June – 28th October 2018
As a museum dedicated to ceramics, CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art works to collect and disseminate the historical and contemporary expressions of ceramic art, crafts and design. In our summer exhibition we present a number of new works that have been added to the CLAY Collection in the period from 2016 to 2018. Among them are ceramic works by Nils Erik Gjerdevik, Lars Ravn, Christin Johansson, Niels Reumert, H.A. Brendekilde, Anders Ruhwald, Anne Fløche et al.
The works are donated by private people and collectors or acquired with support from associations and foundations.
Museum director, Pia Wirnfeldt, comments: “We are very grateful for the ongoing donations to the CLAY Collection which are vital in order to meet the museum’s vision of communicating the diversity of ceramics to a wide audience across tradition and time.”
CLAY does not receive public funds for the purchase of art. Hence, the museum must often seek private means and support. CLAY would therefore like to thank for each donation which has contributed – uniquely and generously – to the upgrading of the museum’s collection – across time, materials, expressions and techniques.
