INTERPRETATIONS
28. february – 17. april 2017
The exhibition ‘Interpretations’ shows what happens when you ask a group of design students to redefine and reinterpret the historic heritage of Danish porcelain design.
The project is a result of a collaboration between 10 students from the master program Ceramic Design at the SuperFormLab at KADK, Royal Copenhagen A/S and CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art.
The brief of the project has been for the students to come up with new design proposals for Royal Copenhagen, based on and inspired by the company’s history and earlier productions. The challenge for the students has been to find the right balance between being innovative and yet preserve the famous brand – to rethink and redesign without copying – and by that bring the past into the future.
The exhibition is on display in the part of the museum called the Pavilion.
