Special Access Conditions at CLAY – 25 May 2026
On 25 May, Middelfart hosts the Royal Run. CLAY will be open as usual from 10.00 to 17.00. In connection with the Royal Run, we invite visitors to take part in the activity Leave Your Mark, where both children and adults can make their fingerprint on a large ceramic vessel.
Due to the Royal Run, access to the museum will be affected on the day:
- As a general rule, the area will be closed to car traffic throughout the day
- Pedestrians and cyclists can access the area via Kongebrovej approximately between 10.00 and 14.00
- The waterfront path will be closed approximately between 12.00 and 13.00 due to the 10 km race
- The 5 km race will pass along Kongebrovej approximately between 14.30 and 16.00
We recommend arriving on foot or by bicycle.

The museum has recently been transformed from a small museum located in a beautiful old villa to also include a spacious, modern building.This new building offers 1,500 square meters situated both above and below ground

Do not bring bags into the exhibition areas. There are lockers in the cloakroom next to the ticket office.
You are welcome to take pictures at CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark. However, do not use a tripod, flash or extra lighting, just as rules concerning copyright means that your photos may only be used for private purposes.
Strollers
Wheels must be fitted with covers. Ask at the Information.
Access is possible for wheelchairs.
Wheelchair users can bring a helper free of charge.
Guide dogs are allowed.
Guided tour
Guided tours can be arranged during opening hours and only by reservation.
Duration. 45 minutes.
Price: DKK 1000,-/ 1200,-
The price covers groups up to 25 people on weekdays/ weekend.
